FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Not all types of houses have show homes, but there are certain styles that have been built in the UK. We therefore highly recommend you contact one of our exclusive partners and arrange a visit to a particular house.
Externally VELOX has been tested, certified and compatible with Parex renders and accepted by warranty providers. Internally any plaster is possible following manufacturers recommendations, but as standard we use plasterboard on dot and dabs with skim finish.

The technological process of implementation renders can be downloaded in the Downloads section of this website.
A house built with VELOX can remain without facades for a few years. Noise walls can be manufactured so they can simply be finished with spray paint. Other tiles and slabs can be used, with additional VELOX boards acting as a decorative element. However, this method will require a colour coating to finish.
Using clay plaster is possible. We recommend contacting the manufacturer of the plaster and they will provide further information about the application.
The general rule is that distribution of pipes and cables should be considered at design stage, before build starts, to at least allocate where ducts are going to be placed between ground floor and first floor etc. Running pipes is simple, they get chased into the VELOX board up to 40mm dia, bigger diameter pipes would get placed into the cavity before concreting. Cables would get either chased in the VELOX board or run externally with capping protection, following UK regulations.
In general we can say that VELOX system is the at the cheaper end of construction systems, offering the best possible benefits to our customers. Benefits include: external insulation, air permeability of 0.5-1.5 due to concrete core, thermal mass (no polystyrene barrier internally), structural stability, no creaks or cracks, quick construction, U values down to Passive level etc. Send your project to us for quotation and compare to others.
Yes, you can use standard timber floor within VELOX system, without any problems. However we would strongly recommend you consider using VELOX concrete ceiling system with its extra benefits. These benefits include no creaking or cracking, sound proofing properties, extra thermal mass and long spans up to 12 meters.
Put simply, VELOX Building System is suitable for all types of homes, including those on a slope, due to its high strength. In preparation, experienced VELOX designers will take the project's location into account and perform a structural analysis.

Regarding the thermal insulation, it is advised to select a system with insulation already built in and top up any additional insulation as required.
